This notice covers the math games at supersilveracademy.com/games, family accounts, the Family Plan and worksheet photos. Our general Privacy Policy covers the rest of supersilveracademy.com (books, articles, free gifts). We wrote this in plain language. Where it says "you", it means the parent or guardian who uses the games with their child.
Who we are
The games and the Family Plan are run by Madscope Marketing Limited, trading as Super Silver Academy, a company registered in Ireland (company number 714244), 14 The Meadows, Ballyporeen, Co. Tipperary, E21 E260, Ireland. We are the "controller" of the personal data described here. To contact us about privacy, including any request below: email [email protected] (put "Privacy" in the subject), phone +353 89 453 0679, or write to us at that address.
The short version
- You can play the free games without an account. Then nothing about your child leaves your device.
- With a family account, we keep only what the games need: your email, a first name or nickname for each child, and their answers.
- Worksheet photos are deleted as soon as they have been read, usually within a minute. We keep only the practice questions made from them, and you can edit or delete those.
- We never sell data, never show ads in the games, and never use your child's data for marketing.
- You can download each child's results, and you can delete your whole family account yourself at any time.
Information about children (our notice to parents under the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA)
The games are made for children aged about 5 to 12. A child cannot create an account. Only a parent or guardian aged 18 or over can create a family account, and must confirm that they are the child's parent or guardian and agree to this notice.
How you give permission: after ticking that box, you add a card on Stripe's secure payment page, either when you start the free trial or, for a family invited for free, as a free card check where nothing is charged. Until then, nothing your child does in the games is sent to us: their answers stay on your device. Before that step we hold only what you, the parent, typed: your email and your children's names. If you do not finish within 30 days, we delete the account.
What we collect about a child (family accounts only):
- the name you choose for them. A first name or a nickname is enough; please don't use full names.
- the picture (emoji) you pick for them, and their age if you choose to add it
- how they play: which questions they were asked, what they answered, whether they were right first time, which game and when
- their game settings, and any reward goal you set for them (for example "a trip to the park")
- practice questions made from worksheets you upload for them
What we do not collect from children: we do not ask a child for an email address, phone number, address, photo, voice or location, and the games have no chat or messaging. The games do not use advertising, ad tracking or third-party analytics.
How we use it: only to run the games for your family: to choose the next question, bring back the ones they found hard, show their progress, rewards and stickers, and give you the parent report.
Who we share it with: only the service providers listed below, who process it for us under contract to run the service and for nothing else. Every one of them is needed to run the games, so there is no separate choice to make about them; we do not disclose children's information to anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Can children make information public? No. Children cannot post, chat or message. If you share a worksheet's questions with another parent, they get only the questions, which use made-up names and contain no information about your child.
Your rights as a parent: at any time you can review your child's information (the parent report and the "Download results" spreadsheet on your family page), change or delete any of it, and refuse further collection by deleting the child's profile or your whole family account ("Delete our family account" on your family page). You can also ask us to do any of this: email [email protected] (put "Privacy" in the subject), phone +353 89 453 0679.
What we collect and why
| What | Why | Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Your email and password (we store only a scrambled "hash" of the password, never the password itself) | To give you a secure family account on every device | Performance of our contract with you |
| Your children's profiles, answers, settings and goals (above) | To run the games and the parent report | Performance of our contract with you |
| Worksheet photos and typed or dictated requests you send us | To make practice questions from them (see below) | Performance of our contract with you |
| Your plan, trial and billing status, and a Stripe customer reference | To provide the Family Plan, count included worksheets and bill extras you approve | Performance of our contract; legal obligations (tax and accounting records) |
| Your record of agreeing to these terms and this notice (date and version) | To show we have your consent as a parent | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
| Invite and sharing codes | To give the free month to a friend you invite, the free month to you, and to let other parents add worksheets you share | Performance of our contract |
| Basic technical logs (for example, error messages) | To keep the service secure and working | Legitimate interests (security and reliability) |
Worksheet photos and AI
When you upload a worksheet photo (or type or dictate a request), it is sent to Anthropic, an AI company, whose Claude model reads it and writes practice questions. Our software then checks every question automatically, and you check, edit or remove each question before your child sees it.
- The photo is deleted from our systems as soon as it has been read, usually within a minute, whether the reading worked or not. We keep only the questions.
- Anthropic processes the photo for us as our service provider. Under Anthropic's commercial terms for its API, it does not use our content to train its models. It may keep the request for a limited period under its own terms, for safety and abuse monitoring.
- Please crop out or cover your child's name, face and any other personal details before you take the photo. We don't need them.
- Questions made from a worksheet use new numbers and made-up names, never a name from the page, and contain no information about your child. If you choose to share them with another parent, they see only the questions.
Free play without an account
If you play without signing in, the games store each player's name, picture, age, answers and settings only on your device (in your browser's storage). We do not receive them. Clearing your browser's data deletes them. If you later create a family account, the family page offers to copy this device's players and answers into your account.
Device storage and cookies
The games use your browser's storage to remember the current player, their progress, and (if you sign in) a sign-in token. These are needed for the games to work. The games and the family page do not use advertising or analytics cookies. (The rest of supersilveracademy.com uses analytics cookies, as explained in our general Privacy Policy.)
Our service providers
| Provider | What they do for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify, Inc. | Hosts the games and stores family accounts | United States |
| Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. and its affiliates | Takes payments. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us | EU and United States |
| Anthropic, PBC | Reads worksheet photos and requests to write practice questions | United States |
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Stores our nightly backups, encrypted with a key only we hold, so Cloudflare cannot read them | EU and United States |
When data goes outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where it has one, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with them.
How long we keep it
This is our data retention policy. We keep information only as long as we need it to run the games for your family, and then delete it.
- Worksheet photos: deleted as soon as they have been read.
- A sign-up that never finished the card step: deleted after 30 days.
- Your family account and your children's data: kept while your account is open, because the games need a child's past answers to choose their next questions, and deleted when you delete the account or ask us to. If an account has had no sign-in and no paid plan for 24 months, we delete it.
- Backups: an encrypted copy is made each night. Daily copies are deleted after 30 days and monthly copies after 12 months, so deleted data disappears from backups within 12 months at the latest.
- Billing records: payment records held by Stripe and our accounts, and any cancellation you send us, are kept for as long as the law requires (in Ireland, normally six years).
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as a strong one-way hash. Each family's data can only be reached with that family's sign-in, and a family can never see another family's data. Backups are encrypted before they leave our systems. Too many wrong password attempts lock sign-in for a while. Only we can reach the stored data, and only to run, support or fix the service. We keep a written information security program, with a named person responsible for it, assess the risks at least once a year, and review it when the service changes.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your family's data, and you can delete your family account yourself at any time. If you are in the EU, the UK or another country with similar laws, you also have the right to restrict or object to how we use your data, and to complain to a data protection authority. In Ireland, that's the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie). We will answer any request within one month.
Things we never do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not use children's data for advertising, marketing or profiling. We do not show ads in the games. We do not let other companies track children in the games.
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell signed-in parents on the family page before the change applies. If a change would need new consent from you as a parent, we will ask for it first.
